Hi – nice to meet you!
We’re looking for a Platform Engineer to help our development teams do their best work.
You’ll work closely with four teams building complex software, and your customers are the developers themselves. Your mission is to create the digital foundation they rely on every day—making our infrastructure automated, scalable, secure, and, ideally, almost invisible.
You’ll empower our engineers to deploy code to production multiple times a day with confidence (and without breaking a sweat – or the servers). And when the big moments arrive, like the Christmas morning traffic rush, you’ll make sure skadii keeps running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Architecture: Manage and evolve our cloud resources (AWS/Azure) strictly through code (Terraform/CloudFormation). We do not manage infrastructure by clicking in a console.
- Scalability: Design auto-scaling rules and load balancing strategies that handle our extreme seasonality (high load in winter, low in summer) cost-effectively.
- Developer Experience (DX) & Pipelines
- CI/CD Ownership: You own the “pipe.” You ensure that the path from git commit to Production is fast, automated, and safe.
- Environment Management: Create self-service capabilities so developers can spin up ephemeral environments for testing without waiting for permission.
- Reliability & Observability
- Monitoring: Implement the “Eyes and Ears” of the system (Datadog, Prometheus, ELK). You ensure we know about an outage before the customer calls support.
- Incident Response: Help structure our On-Call rotation and lead “Post-Mortems” after incidents to ensure we learn and improve the system’s resilience.
Capabilities & Requirements
- Cloud Native: Deep expertise in Azure and container orchestration (Kubernetes/Docker).
- Scripting: Strong proficiency in Python, Go, or Bash. You automate everything.
- Security Mindset: You understand how to manage secrets, firewalls, and access controls in a distributed system.
- Service Oriented: You view the developers as your clients. You are here to unblock them, not to be a “Gatekeeper.”
Success Metrics (KPIs)
- Deployment Frequency: Increasing the number of times we can safely deploy per week.
- Lead Time for Changes: Reducing the time from Code Commit to Production.
- System Uptime: 99.9+% availability during the core winter season.
Why you'll love working here
The skadii difference
We think like a start-up, but with long-term stability. At skadii, curiosity, ownership, and hands-on execution matter more than rigid to-do lists.
We keep communication simple and direct. Our doors (and Teams channels) are always open. We create space for collaboration and a shared mission, because software only works when people enjoy building it.
At skadii, collaboration comes first. We work cross-functionally across development, design, product, and strategy. We believe in openness, responsibility, and supporting each other in everyday work.
For us, agile is more than a process. It’s a mindset. We think fast, iterate quickly, and focus on execution. We make decisions pragmatically, learn from what doesn’t work, and continuously improve with every step.
We communicate openly. About goals, numbers, and challenges. In regular updates, everyone knows what’s happening: from strategy to ongoing projects.
We build software that creates real value. We focus on features, user needs, and impact. Not ego or trends. We continuously challenge what we build, because good isn’t enough.
There’s no one-size-fits-all career path at skadii. But there are many opportunities. Whether you’re a career changer, a specialist, or taking on leadership responsibilities, we support you in finding your path.
Depending on the task and schedule, working remotely can be an option. At the same time, we value the benefits of being together in person.
