The Roosevelt Island tram is part of the public transportation system in NYC, allowing for alternative transportation to and from Roosevelt Island to Manhattan. There are 12,000 residents on Roosevelt Island who use the tram and F train for their commute into Manhattan. Visitors to NYC also to take the tram for its incredible views, especially on weekends and holidays.

Robbie Saavedra, Operations & Maintenance Manager and Darren McCarthy, RIOC – Tramway Manager with Leitner-Poma of America are the users of skadii for ropeway management and Logbook. The need to see in real time the status of each tram and capture the alarms and stoppages led to the implementation of skadii. The implementation and configuration was completed in the fall of 2024.

Recently, Logbook has been added, allowing Darren and his team to electronically record their daily tram log and have them saved to the cloud.
